HISTOIRE

GDM Racing : Passion for competition.

GDM Racing was created by combining several skills from the same family.

It all began in 1973, when Yvon Olivier set up GARAGE DU MOULIN with his wife Mireille as a FORD agent.

In 1986, Yves Olivier joined the garage at the age of 18. A keen motor sports fan, he has a special fondness for BMW and in particular the Motorsport range.

In 2001, Yves took over the garage and used his experience and skills to expand it. This involved extending the mechanical workshop, opening a bodywork/paint shop and a showroom for the sale of new and used vehicles. The workforce grew from 6 to 18.

In 2002, his brother Franck Olivier joined the family business to manage the sales side.

At the same time, Yves’s son, Olivier Cédric, was doing his apprenticeship, on the one hand in the design offices for technical culture, and on the other hand in a Porsche stable for modern and historic races.

He prepares, restores and fine-tunes historic Porsches such as the 906, 908, 910, 2.8 RSR, 3.0 RSR, 935, 962, 917, …., to ensure their assistance in VHC races such as: Le Tour Auto, l’Age d’Or, Classic Endurance Racing, Le Mans Classic.

He also provides assistance on modern Porsches, 997 Cup, 997 GT3 R, GT3 RSR, during European championships such as: VdeV, ELMS, 24h series,…

In 2015, Cédric joined his father and the partnership was logical and complete. So they created a competition centre within GARAGE DU MOULIN.

GDM Racing was born in 2017. It was natural for Yves to pass on his experience and know-how to his son, who in turn could contribute his racing culture.

In 2019, Cyril, Cédric’s uncle, and Arthur, his half-brother, join the ranks, both bringing their expertise. Cyril is developing the Events/Communications side of the business, while Arthur brings his experience in general mechanics, as a machinist/turner for the modification and/or manufacture of parts, which is essential in preparation, as well as in restoration.

In 2020, GDM Racing bought a Lamera Cup in order to take part in the Lamera Cup European Endurance Championship the following year.

As you can see, the story is just beginning…
